The Famous Maharashtrian, Chakli, is a famous snack that you can enjoy with your loved ones. This light and crunchy chaklis are popular in South Africa. Its recipe is a blend of rice flour, besan (gram flour), and a mixture of Indian species. Make this delicious chakli during an Indian festival like Diwali, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc. Let’s start with the ingredients.
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 cup of rice flour
• 1 cup of besan
• ½ tbsp cumin seeds
• ½ tbsp carom seeds
• 1 tbsp sesame seeds
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• 1/3 tbsp turmeric powder
• 3 cups ghee
• 1 tbsp red chili powder
• Salt (as per taste)
• Oil for deep fry
LET’S MAKE:-
Step 1- Add rice flour and gram flour to a bowl. Further, add sesame seeds, cumin seeds, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, asafoetida, and ghee. Mix them well.
Step 2- Add warm water little by little and knead it properly.
Step 3- Once a stiff dough is ready, coat it with some drops of ghee.
Step 4- Grease oil or ghee in the chakli maker before using it. Place some dough in a maker.
Step 5- Place butter paper or any plastic sheet on a plane surface. Now, make a spiral-shaped snack through chakli maker.
Step 6- Heat oil to deep fry the chaklis. Fry chakli on medium flame until it turns golden brown and crispy.
Step 7- Take out once it’s done from both sides. You can store them in an air-tight container for a month.
Step 8- Your yummy and crispy chakli is ready to taste. You can have them with delicious tea. Enjoy!!!
