2. Steam the Dhokla: Grease a steamer tray or cake pan with oil. Pour the batter into the tray, filling it halfway. In a steamer, bring water to a boil and then place the tray inside. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick – it should come out clean. Once done, remove the tray from the steamer and let it cool slightly.
