Vada Pav
Popular street food in Maharashtra, Vada pav is made up of vada and pav where vada is a deep-fried potato dumpling and pav is a bread bun. This is a quick mouthwatering snack that you can enjoy as your evening snack with tea. Let’s start with the ingredients:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Besan
- Pav (according to you)
- 3-4 boiled potatoes
- Salt
- ½ tbsp Red chili powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp Curry leaves
- A Pinch of hing
- 300 ml oil to fry
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Chili paste
LET’S MAKE:
Step 1- Heat a pan with oil and add mustard seeds. Add curry leaves when they started crackling.
Step 2- Add garlic paste and green chili paste. Saute them and add boiled mashed potatoes. Mix them for 1 minute.
Step 3- Add salt, turmeric, chili powder, and coriander powder. Mix them for 5-6 minutes on a medium flame. Let them cook. Off the flame and add coriander leaves.
Step 4- Take a bowl, add besan, turmeric powder, 1 tbsp oil, and a pinch of hing. Mix them well and add some water. Make a thick and consistent paste (there should be no lumps in the batter.
Step 5- Now, mash the potato mixture with your hand and make balls.
Step 6- Heat oil in any deep utensil/pan. Dip these balls in flour paste.
Step 7- Fry them for 3-4 minutes from all sides. Take them out from your pan. In the same pan, fry a slightly cut green chili just for 1 minute.
Step 8- Take your pav and apply green chutney on both sides. Place your vada inside it with green chili.
Step 9- Your delicious vada pav is ready to taste. Enjoy!!
